We will work with you to complete your registration. You can also download the registration form and submit by email or regular mail and pay using Venmo.

 

Onsite registration will be available from 9 AM to 10 AM and can be paid by cash or Venmo only.

 

We are looking forward to the great competion this Saturday. We thank everyone that has accepted the Challenge whether you're a returning competitor or this is your first time. Have fun, support all the competitors, and make some new friends.


‍Spectators

 

Of course spectators are welcome. 12 and under are free and 13 and older are $5/person ($20 maximum per family).


‍Rules for All

 

  • Competitors, officials, and staff only are allowed in the competition area.
  • NO street shoes are allowed in the competition area. This is to protect the competitors and the gym floor. Shoes may be worn in the competition are, but they cannot be the same ones worn going from the parking lot to the entrance.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, etc are not permitted on the campus.
  • Locker rooms are for the competitors, officials, and staff. Spectators are asked to use the restrooms near the gym entrance.

‍Judges Meeting

 

All black belts, 16 and older, are asked to attend the judges meeting at 9:30. This will be a brief meeting to discuss the judging criteria, introduce everybody, and answer any questions. Ring assignments will be announced at this meeting.

When you use the link above or the QR code you'll see a link to Share Media. This is a OneDrive folder where you can upload high resolution pictures and videos that we may use in the future to promote the Golden Eagle Challenge and share video highlights from the Challenge. We prefer pictures and videos to be landscape (16:9) but we can use portrait as well. If possible please record videos in 4K (3840x2160) at 30 (29.97) fps.


‍Grand Champions

 

This year we are awarding two Grand Champions. One for the Black Belts and on for the Under Black Belts (new for 2023). We appreciate the effort that every competitor puts in to prepare for the Challenge. Every competitor is eligible to be a Grand Champion. Medal round winners compete to become Champions and then the Champions compete to be the Grand Champion.

‍Parking

 

The Galway Central Schools are on one campus. Parking is available at either entrance on Sacandaga Rd (Rte 147). The High School gym is located between the two lots. There will be a sign at each lot to direct people to the entrance between the gym and auditorium, which is facing the road.


‍The Golden Eagle Challenge is an event in the 518 Martial Arts circuit. Members competing in the Challenge earn points in the medal and champioship rounds. These points are valuable toward becoming a 518 Martial Arts Champion. The 2023 518 Martial Arts Champions will be announced in January 2024.
